Sir,

I am directed by Secretary Sir E. Grey to acknowledge the receipt of your letter 47310 of the 20th instant transmitting a copy of a despatch from the Governor of Hong kong respecting the possibility of seditious propaganda being organised in that Colony by Germans resident in China.

Sir E. Grey has caused a copy of Sir F.H.May's despatch to be forwarded to His Majesty's Minister in Peking; and I am to suggest that, if the secretary of State for the Colonies sees no objection, copies of similer despatches might in future be sent direct from Hong Kong to liis lajesty's Legation in Zeking.
